Hy-vee Backpack

If you clip their coupon, from their flyer that came out on Wednesday in the Post, or in the entry way to the store, you can get this backpack for $4.99, if you buy 5 qualifing Pepsi Products. So, I bought 5 - 2 liters for $5. (that is a good price for a 2 liter, and we buy and drink it normally, so I wasn't buying anything we don't use.) The backpack comes with:
  • Compass
  • Protractor
  • 4 Glue Sticks
  • Scissors
  • 2 Erasers
  • 24 Crayons
  • 12 Colored Pencils
  • 10 Pencils
  • 1 Ruler
  • 1 Folder
School supplies are cheap, you can by the name brand ones for pennies if you go to all the different stores, but this is the cheapest deal on a backpack I've seen. It's a really nice backpack, and Connor actually picked out a "boy" one. There was a lot of pink ones to choose from. The ad says "limited quantities" so, I don't know if they would do rain checks, so if you want in, I'd go now.

I had a new guy cashier. He seemed really nice, and was very good with my coupons. Even gave me 20 cents back for using my canvas bags. It would be nice to have a different morning cashier than the regular 2 that I have already pissed off enough.

Dollar Tree

In preparation for the big vacation, I stopped by the Dollar Tree to find some fun things to do while at the cabin. I am always surprised with what I find.
  • Pair of Merona (Target) Brand sunglasses, tag for $14.99 on them still
  • Scooby plastic placemat
  • King Sized bag of M&Ms (Con got to pick out a special "in the car treat")
  • 6 pack of Keebler cookies
  • Cars puzzle
  • Water color paints (they are 97 cents at Target, but that is way across town)
  • Scooby coloring book
  • Bouncy ball with sparkly water inside
  • Boxed candy of Everlasting Gobstoppers (usually on sale for $1 at Target, Walmart as well)
A lot of the stuff is available at other stores, for around the same price, but Dollar Tree is close to where I live, and I find it a fun place to shop. I have long suspected that Target sells their close out stuff to Dollar Tree, as I have seen many things from their Dollar Spot at Dollar Tree. There were several Merona and Xhilaration Brand sunglasses there. Some are pretty wild, but fun. Located up in the front corner of the store, right by the widow on an end cap.
